In Islam we often hear the topic of what does our Ummah lack? Why are we divided? Why do we have a hard time to interact with our Sunni or Shia brothers and sisters in Islam. I often personally hear these questions in social gatherings, masjids, and even on college campuses; I even contemplate these questions myself and you can see it with your own eyes the tension that is built up; so I took it in my own hands to research about the differentiations of Sunni Islam and Shia Islam and ways to look at the commonalities to unite us as one Ummah. We are the backbone of our Deen and we need to reform as one Ummah. This is why I took the opportunity to further research about ways to look at the commonalities in order to break these barriers we are creating.
